Brass repousse of knotwork in a circle. I drew it on paper first to make sure the design would work ok, then did it in Brass. The brass piece is 6" wide and is mounted on a piece of slate. I used acid and bluing chemicals to darken the background of the brass to give it contrast. Some of my family's roots are from Denmark and even though I have other blood in me, I've always felt a strong connection to the Nordic world and its people but this is the first good knotwork I've done in metal.

Here is a link with some info and photos about how repousse is done. [link]

Thanks to the talented artist Cedarseed [link] for her excellent guide that helped me to understand an easy way to do the layout of this kind of work in circles. I've been going around in circles all my life, now circles finally make sense! ;)

Thank you Tracy! I hate to put this kind of thing in a frame, I want it to really as look authentic as possible. I appreciate the kind comment! :rose: :)

Woaw the patience you must have to create something like that , it's really beautifull , and i love the stone frame :-) Bravo Monsieur
Thank you Marie! :) I don't have the patience very often but it sure feels good to do this kind of art! I wish I could do it more often. ;)

Whoa, this is gorgeous!! Is it the arabesque tutorial that helped you? I'm amazed you were able to apply it to Celtic knotwork. They look fantastic in metal, and the whole assortment of materials – painted stone, metal, slate – is a feast for the senses!
