The Viking God Thor's hammer,
Its been a while since I've done any Viking related art so here it is. I made the hammer design from Brass and acid etched the design on and then crudely hammered it into a slight convex shape, its mounted on old natural slate from a 35 million year old lake bottom, I painted the slate dark moss green. The size is 9" X 7"
another gorgeous piece! i really like the way you've been using slate lately! it makes such a wonderful base!! it brings out the best in the metalwork here...much more than something synthetic would have!
Superb work. You say you did that with acid, what kind (and how do I get it). Our family recently tried to have some acid shipped to us but with the encresed sucurity in this country has made that imposible. Oh well, I've always been rather ambivilant about that whole thing. We don't have any slate around here, just anthrositic rocks. I just posted a pic of our local bedrock in my gallery.

It looks very nice. I'd wear it!
Or use it

There once was a time when matters were settled by gun, blade or fists. The world has moved on, and my kind are fadding away.
